Today my mother passed away. I found out as I was shopping in Target. Despite being in such a public place, news like that demands an emotional response. So, of course I cried. A lady around my age, with 2 young boys happened to walk past me and saw my emotional outburst. She asked me what was wrong and I told her about my mum, she came over and hugged me, me a complete stranger. Then she insisted on buying me a coffee. She asked me what I wanted and offered to buy me something to eat as well.
It was such a simple but much appreciated gesture. To that unknown lady, thank you, your generosity and kindness is deeply appreciated.
